Othello Five keeps the familiar Othello idea of flipping an opponent’s stones by trapping them between your own, then changes the win condition: victory comes from making five consecutive stones in a row or eliminating every opposing piece. That specific objective gives each capture a second meaning. A move can improve immediate control while also opening or blocking a possible five-stone line, so the best choice is not always the one that flips the most stones at once. The game supports play against AI or against a friend, with three AI difficulty levels labeled Easy, Normal, and Hard. Easy is presented for beginners, Normal as a casual challenge, and Hard for more strategic play. The option to see the AI’s thinking process gives players a clearer look at how threats are being weighed, while stat tracking adds a simple way to follow progress over repeated games. Modern interface animations support the presentation without changing the core focus on stone placement and tactical timing. A useful approach is to balance captures with formation pressure. Chasing every immediate flip can leave room for the opponent to build the five-in-a-row line that actually decides the game. Creating more than one possible line threat can force defensive replies and make the opponent choose which danger to stop.
